A collection of texts on Czech history and Czech philosophy. In addition to the booklet On the Meaning of Today, which was banned shortly after it was published in 1971, this volume includes significant studies on Masaryk as well as a series of shorted articles, reflections, and glossaries on Czech personalities of the past and recent times, including texts on the Charter 77 human rights movement. The volume was edited by K. Palek and I. Chvatík.
