Platón a problém
filosofické vlády
A comprehensive and in many ways new view of Plato’s largest work as the most important document of his political thought. Although the dialogue Laws is in line with the Republic and Statesman in the most important respect, attributing a central political role to the philosophical ruler, in contrast to these better-known Plato’s works, it contains a clearer formulation of the philosopher’s relationship to the city’s constitution and laws, to empirical conditions of politics and also to his fellow citizens. It could thus become not only a model of various legal codes of Plato’s times, but also the starting point of the tradition of proposals for the best constitution from antiquity to modern times.
