And the Nightingales Sing
∙ OIKOYMENH ∙

The book is a set of dialogues, meditations, theological reflections and feuilletons. It is an attempt to address the reader by presenting the experience of one dissident generation living under the communist oppressive power. The protagonists are mostly Christians, philosophers and theologians, teachers and students, struggling for civil responsibility and their identity based on the Christian values. The time span the book covers lies between the 7th and 9th decade of the last century. The author utilized his experiences of running one of the so called flat-seminars in Prague, that were highly popular after he and number of his friends had signed the first Charta-77 document in January 1977.
